Amsterdam in Springtime

If you love cherry blossom trees as much as I do, you’re in luck! When traveling to Amsterdam in Spring, you can visit the Japanese Cherry Blossom Park in Amsterdamse Bos, a forest close to the city.

Amsterdam has a large Japanese community, who get together each year to celebrate the return of Spring during Hanami Matsuri. During this Cherry Blossom Festival, it’s a tradition to picnic underneath the blossoming trees with friends and family.

The Japanese cherry blossoms between the end of March until the End of April. It can be very crowded on the weekends, so I recommend visiting the park on a weekday, early in the morning. As an alternative, you can also view some magnificent cherry blossom trees in Westerpark.
